'Buy Art Fair', Manchester
Going to be showing my work at 'Buy Art Fair', Manchester this weekend (26th-29th September).
My work will be on stands 34 and 84.
Meeting...
Had a really good meeting today about working with someone I really admire. Need to work on some ideas but confident something will come of it. Watch this space...!
My work's in Atelier, Rose & Grey
I'm pleased to have my work in 'Atelier, Rose & Grey', the North’s leading, specialist original print gallery.
They have 2 galleries in the villages of Ramsbottom and Hale.
Big Beach Cafe
Piece is being installed today at Norman Cook's new cafe on the seafront, Big Beach Cafe :-)
King's College London
King's College London have previously chosen a 'London - Red' for newly refurbished Franklin-Wilkins Library and another piece for another location.
Today they installed a new commissioned piece in the boardroom. It's on 10mm clear acrylic and measures 1280mm x 970mm. It includes 70 words suggested reflecting the nature of their work and the college's importance in so many fields. Words such as 'Endocrinology', 'Knowledge' and 'Molecular Medicine' as well as 'Reggie the Lion', the college mascot appear within the piece. Needless to say, it was a bit of a challenge to put together...!
Really pleased with it...!
Hotel Ibis
Completed the commission for Hotel Ibis. It's being installed in their new hotel in Brighton.
Brighton & Hove Leader
Made the front page of the 'Brighton & Hove Leader' with 'Play', along with a teenager who had to be cut out of a highchair... They do say any publicity's good publicity though...!
'Play' raised £1800 for Joss Searchlight
Had a really good meeting with a London gallery yesterday, and also pleased to announce 'Play' raised £1800 for Joss Searchlight at auction. It was made especially for the event and featured 841 plastic fridge magnets.
Well done Dianne and Nigel for putting together the event and to all the other artists involved. Thank you to everyone that bid, and congratulations to Lou for buying the piece!
Wordsmith Festival, Brighton Dome
Showed my work at the Wordsmith Festival at the Brighton Dome. Thanks Pippa! Also managed to win a Scrabble dictionary by getting 161 points from 4 moves. Thank you to Doj, Verity and the Brighton and Hove Scrabble Club :-)
Fatboy Slim
Been producing more personalised prints...and met some really nice people along the way... Norman Cook also sent through a couple of pictures of him with his print...and quite a few words circled, including pretty much every rude one, and some that even I didn't know were in there...
